Snow Foam Lance? Q's

I have just bought a snow foam lance and looking at the description of the product.....

it advises a mixture of snow foam and a shampoo. Does this mean the entire bottle is filled with mainly snow foam and part shampoo?

This is what I have bought

seen the pictures of it working on cars, looks superb. been trying the snow foam for a while, but not really had the the right application as the lance was not fine enough to produce a foam type effect as it comes up in the picture below

Mix it 1:10 - 1:20 / snowfoam:water.
So you will have a full bottle, but will only be using 50-100mil of snow foam in there.

I usually pop some shampoo in as well.

Then you use the nob on the top to get the mixture to the right concistency et voila.

yes, going to mix it with some meguiars gold class as well, to give it a thicker consistency and then work it on

used this before E38 the other day....wow!!

unfortunately I dont have a proper Karcher, so had to modify the end attachment a bit, but it works a treat!

I used it once, then had to wash it off and then do it again.....just cos I am a big kid with a new toy lol!!

highly recommend anyone getting one, great piece of kit!

Excuse me for being ignorant but what is a snow foam lance, how do you use one and what are the benefits? Do you attach it to hose pipe or a pressure washer?

Seems far too technical this detailing business.

Hi sneak,

Snow Foam is a stage during a basic wash.

It's simply just spraying the car with a thick snow like foam, almost like a thick whipped cream consistency thats left to sit on the car for approx 5 mins to help loosen and remove more contaminants that you would normally mange to remove with just a water rinse.

This is used before washing the car with the 2 bucket method so you are in less danger off dragging dirt particles over your paint work that can cause defects.

There are two different types of snow foam guns.

You get ones that attach to a PW and ones that attach to a normal hose.

Although the normal hose ones are good they are a far cry fry from what can be achieved with one that is compatible with a PW.

That's the basics anyway.

Hope this helps you a little.

Lee.

Thanks, Lee.

So do you just rinse the foam off with water after 5 mins or so and then start washing the car using the two bucket method?

Where do you get the snow lance from?

Thanks again

David

Hi David,

Sorry I missed that out.

Yes you would just snow foam the car, Leave it for 5 mins then rinse off.

After this I sometimes snow foam the car again and then wash the car 2 bucket method but this time without rinsing the snow foam. Just helps with extra lubricity but always perform a snow foam and rinse first.

Click here for one compatible with a PW.

I use 2 squirts of snowfoam & 1 squirt of Megs shampoo plus, topped up with hotwater.

Set on the most thick setting

When it gets like this, its time to blast off

Then finsh off with a wash, I dont buy in to the 2 bucket method, using a grit guard & foaming should be enough to prevent the swirlage....

Can you get them any cheaper than 45quid? My PW only cost 55quid, seems a bit silly to buy an attachment which costs almost the same as the washer itself!
