Hey people.

Had a look on the 'search' but as I'm unsure on what to look for so I thought it was best if I came here. So sorry if this is a topic covered many times.

Fellow ibiza behind me at the lights today with his sidelights on and they had a slight tinge of blue in them. Didn't look like a full HID conversion, but I was wondering what bulbs would these have been? Looked like sweet little mod which I would'nt mind having.

you mean like this?

Mine's a single white LED bulb (not the 4 or more smaller LED in a bunch), I've tried the Osram set and it gave a slight whiter light then the usual mellow yellow

i got a pair of those from ebay and they lasted less than a month, its a lottery of how long they last on these things but i've noticed the single LED bulbs dont blow, but they're not as bright. In fact i'd say they are dimmer then a fresh normal bulb

Yeh like the ones shown above. Picked up a set and fitted them just now but still a bit undecided on it.

As the bonnet was up decided to give my bra a quick go. :D I like it a lot.

hmmm may stay away from this mod still then sounds like a waste, not even as though the LED ones are cheap and it doesn't matter if they blow and there's no point in having them if they are dimmer than normal ones plus will look even worse next to HIDs!

I'm waiting for it to get slightly darker so I can see what it realy looks like as my current outlook on it after fitting them is 'gash'. They're not doing any favours.

Happy enough with Philips Bluevision bulbs. Don't Ring ones, they look blue but not when they're on.

LEDs are not supposed to be for road use (unless used in the interior). But then again, who would know because you can't see the bulbs from outside anyway.

Do you have HIDs though? I have blue coloured side lights (not LED) and they look crap compared the the HIDs

Nope just standard headlights and yes they are naff. So they're coming out tomorrow and standard ones are going back in. Sooooooo anyone interested in a set of LED bulbs? haha

well the reason that i say they are dimmer is that the way normal lamps work is that the light is "omidirectional" so they scatter the light everywhere, now the lamp cluster on the Ibiza is mean to have lenses direct the light forward rather than making the light scratter on to the main light cluster and then have the main lense forcus the light forward on other cars. The LED have a mini lense inside that focuses the light anyway so it wont be as bright if you look at it from an angle.

The hids4u ones will look great against a 6000k hid kit as I would say thats what the colour temp is pretty much.

I have factory HIDS with a colour temp of 4300k and they look quite yellow compaired to my led's.

Just for reference I had some £58 PIAA tera leds and they lasted less than a year. Have had hids4u ones nearly 6 months with no problems so far.
