Now for the springs ey?
Oh god, don't even get me started with those bloody springs!!! Going back home next weekend so will get my local garage to losen the nuts on my alloys so i can finally get the buggers off!!!!
take your time and do it right thats the best way
Well, it's more that i've been doing it the cheap way, just waiting for the right things at the right price to come up on ebay or on here!!!
Update!
Thought I'd give an update of what I've been up to...
I've now added:
40mm lowering springs
Aero flat blade wipers
Spare wheel removed and replaced with tyre weld
Back seats removed
I initially only removed back seats and spare wheel because I needed to fit a lot of stuff in car to take to uni... but after driving back with empty car it handled surprisingly well without all that weight, saving a bit on petrol too
so for the time being they're staying out!!!

i took the spare wheel out of my old golf, but it made it handle terribly, it felt like it was too lite for wot the suspension was designed for,

i like it mate. good choice with the 5 door, ive got a 5 door 1.4s, i dont really know anyone else with one either, they are the ones like lol. as for suggestions.... wheels, go for the 16"s make them multispokes too, thats what im thinking of, but the forementioned "Student Budget" is holding me back too. i think black would look good on yours, especially with the whole black on red scheme going on, what about these?

Yeah it was really really easy! Literally took me about 2 or 3 minutes!
All you do is get an allan key, undo the bolts which hold the bottom half of the seats in when you flip them forward... then with the back half of the seats just a few clips and that's them out!
In the dry it's fantastic, loads better to drive... but on way home from work just now it's been pouring it down and in the wet I did notice it feeling a little bit twitchy around some of the corners when going a bit fast and when hit large puddles etc.

we're a rare breed!!those wheels do like nice actually! am on the look out for set of used 16s at the min and i'm definitely all for the lighter wheel, my alloys at the minute weigh loads coz are 17s!
Never really been a big fan of black alloys though, but to be honest i've never seen a car in person which is red and has black alloys!

Then I mentioned, that I don't give lifts now! And IF I do, I only allow 1 in the back. She then mentioned that there would be space for the dog! I obviously said that that is still a HUGE no!

lol yep, indeed we are. so how did you lower yours then, just with springs or coilovers or what? the backbox looks good by the way and bet it handles class with the seats and wheel out, a bit nippier too i imagine. Yeah i now what you mean about the black they look a bit like steelies from a distance sometimes, but i think theyd look quite good still.

Yeah, I love the SEAT red, gives off an amazing shine when waxed up. I wish I could use the word fast and our cars together in the same sentence!!! ha!
I did consider doing some like red piping/edging around parts of the dash, but never really got round to doing it!
tell you what, you have much more of a student budget than me!!! So far nothing has been done to my car looking to do a few smaller things though after exams.

Ha, not really, all money i've spent on car has been courtesy of student loan, overdrafts and credit cards! Although I do most things myself, so that cuts down cost hugely!
I've not been able to do anythin decent to it recently because of always having to fork out for essential repairs to it
the old gals not liking the fact she's coming up to her 90,000 miles birthday! lol.What you thinking of getting done? And what uni you at?
