to quote ABBA to a certain extend... "gimme gimme gimme a mod after midnight"

I've been waiting on a suitable alternative ever since I butchered a scrap yard Passat, after thinking that the ones on my old Passat looked about right.

Let us know the outcome...you've got more than 1 or 2 at tenter hooks!

i no its going back a few posts but my wife has a 2000 golf 1.4 S and it has the fan type, they'll be quite a few of these (and Bora) in the scrappers now (there were a few on my last trip to DMS)so I would think a quick trip would come trumps.Might have to 'do some work' on her car tomorrow hehe.

Oh, so i take it your talking about the citreon/pug ones dont reach the pipe? Went in a Citreon C5 the other day (i didnt really want to lol) and it had mist jets and fair play they were awesome. Covered the windscreen but didnt leave dribbles running down the screen after the wipers had stopped! Really want to get them now

PS the pug ones seem to have an angle on the pipe coming out while the citeon ones are straight so not sure if that makes a good or bad difference. Also anyone happen to have a part number for the scuttle panel as mine just doesnt fit well and wanna change it at the same time as the jets.

::: PART 1/2 ::: (Due to Pic Limit)

OK fellas... here I am ...

A little man in a little place on the other side of the map...

With BIG news for you all.....

As I mentined, I went to Citroen and got one nozzle as a Guinea Pig.

These com from most of the current Peugeot and Citroen models.

First of all the LEON nozzle is longer and flatter, and the one side has an L-Shaped rubber hose.

This rubber piece will have to be substituted for a small flexible pipe on the new Nozzle.

Not only does one of the jets use an L shaped rubber pipe but also has a skew leg to fit there.

So the mains Problems are :

- 45º Leg on the Leon Jet
- Small pipe needed to substitute the OEM L-Shaped pipe.
- Larger hole and no fitting clips in the PSA Jet.

Solution :

- File the PSA jet slightly on both sides.
- Get a short flexible pipe ( so pressure wont acumulate on the L shaped hose)
- Fit the jet a little further from the window and it will have to be glued in place.

Pics :

Please excuse the mud, car has been in the workshop for a few weeks.

L-Shaped Hose.
(This hose will have to be substituted for a straight flexible one.)
It is only present on one jet, as the other has a T-Piece.

LEON Jet on base.

PSA Jet on Base (Slightly wider than ussual- filing is needed on the sides)

img2185mh1.jpg

Hole.

- PSA Jet has no legs to hold it in there, hole is quite large
- If you place the PSA jet too far back, it will wet the underside of the bonnet.
- If you place it too far forward i will only wet the base of the windscreen.

See the gap ? :

+/- Correct position ( no bonnet wetting and almost perfect spray pattern) :

The good news is that its not impossible to fit, just a little patience and common sense.

I will finish this soon, and i will post up some pics ...

But I guess this is pretty close to what we are all after.
