Well, Turbo Dynamics have come straight back to me with info on the 2 hybrids they do for the K03S fitment, the second one interests me the most (for obvious reasons!), they are both K04's, the first one offers 240-250bhp but the second one offers:

MD445 - K04 turbo with Hi flow K04 compressor wheel, cnc machined compressor housing , large trim K04 turbine wheel, lightening of turbine wheel for faster ‘spool up’, cnc modified turbine housing, ported wastegate, uprated turbine seals. Other ‘blueprinting’ modifications. 12 psi Uprated actuator APPROX 280- 300 BHP. Absolute Maximum recommended boost level – 24-26 P.S.I.

Please Note: This application needs exact engine management settings, free flow exhaust system and front mount intercooler to achieve these horsepower figures, however, the exhaust manifold is the limiting factor in achieving any real worthwhile gains and would need to be changed to get maximum benefit from the turbocharger.

£1250 + VAT

A bolt on K04 capable of 300bhp .......... ! :D Sounds alot like the JBS04 TBH.

CR Turbos have collected my GT2X, they'll have it tomorrow.
HHMMMM, very similar to the JBS04 one, very very similar, infact if I didn't know better I'd say perhaps TD makes the JBS one ;):cartman:

Trouble is I have no blowtorch or vice, so have nothing to bend them with, hopefully h17och can send me his soon so I can get this damn manifold off, only 3 nuts left to get at!

Went to my local VW dealership (Witherspoon's in Sighthill) and ordered all the new nuts, bolts, washers and gaskets for refitting the turbo, parts guy was really good and did a good job, went through all the parts and checked all the part numbers - way better than the SEAT dealership!

My new oil and filter arrived from Opie Oils this morning, excellent service and a great website: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/

Got 5L of Mobil Synt S 5W40 synthetic oil which is 502-505 VW spec, along with a Purolator filter. The Synt S is on offer just now, only £24 for 4L of it, sounds good stuff too (FREE oil filter too!):

I have made up my mind what I'm going to do. I am going to stick with the rebuilt, upgraded GT2X for now and start putting money away for the full Backdraft GT28RS turbo kit. If I can get the ATP manifold off I am going to replace it with the JBS tubular manifold, combined with the hybrid GT2X should perform very well.

Because I'm sticking with an oil-cooled turbo, I have ordered the oil cooler kit from TSR, it has a thermostat in the housing so the oil doesn't get over-cooled.

£150 for the full kit. 13-row core, I asked them if it was suitable for 300bhp and TSR said yes, it would work fine.

Rob, you got the link to the oil cooler as for that price its pretty good?

I will be fitting one of these as well along with an oil restrictor

how will the oil restrictor work or where do i buy one from? sorry for the stupid questions, I am still a newbie in this type of territory

CR Turbos will have to make one for you, I'll ask them to make you one as they're doing one for me.

I contacted TIG-ART in Israel today with regards to a tubular manifold, mainly because I HATE this ATP one SO much! Turns out they have them in stock, same as the JBS ones and are MUCH cheaper. £393 shipped to my door - compared to £528 + shipping from JBS for the same thing! Pics TIG-ART sent me:

They have 2 in stock, so I have ordered one. Now I MUST get this ATP one off!!! I need a wacky 12mm spanner to get at these last nuts!!!

TIG-ART are great to deal with. http://www.tig-art.com/home
