I will soon be needing 4 new tyres and was looking at pricing up some tyres, which turn out to be £100-£120 a corner depending on what I buy and where I buy them from.

However, I fancy powder coating the OEM wheels black which I can have done for £40-£50 a corner. Add the £425 (approx) to the £175 and total is £600.

I had seen some nice Team Dynamics wheels on BenCTR's car and he sent me the link for the same wheels on ebay complete with new tyres (dont worry I would take the tyre upgrade lol)......

I have never bothered with aftermarket wheels before, but with these wheels on, there is an approx 20kg weight saving according to Ben, they are black and they look ok in my opinion.

Pictures of these wheels on an Edition30 below

I have seen the BBS CK's on Z-Boyds MK2 Leon Cupra which look nice, but my budget is the approx cost of four new tyres plus powder coating original wheels.

Opinions or suggestions for other wheels welcome :)

Edit: I have no idea about the whole ET thing or widths

What would a MK2 Leon need as far as this is concerned?

They are very nice wheels , ET is still unclear to me for the leon, I like my wheels to sit out as far as possible and think et35 would look best, but have not had confirmation that they do not rub anywhere , et40-45 is what you are looking for factory fit I think ... The 38`s will sit further out, the 45 will sit about the same as standard wheels ... I would go 38 with those wheels ...

I can not stress guys how much better they actually look in the flesh.. All the pics I seem to take never really do them justice..
Pics of them on a VXR..

Also, don't forget the BTCC cars use them, so they must be ok.. Ha

saw a white k1 in aberdeen about 2 hours ago. to many spokes i think which kind of hides the callipers and disks, i think the OEM wheels look good on the car as they are but this is just my opinion, everyone has differant tastes.

Price is £679 including crappy tyres, but to get Flakens which seem to have fair reviews, there is a £70 upgrade price. Total price therefore £750.

I wouldn't say they hide the brakes to much at all mate..

And don't forget the Cupra discs and callipers are a fair bit bigger than mine..

Not my cup of tea mate, but each to there own..
Are they lightweight?

Dunno. A local supplier can get them though. I am gonna have to go up and have a look. The original Pro Race 1.2 wheels are still real nice and it turns out the local supplier can do them for about the same price as I could have them delivered for from the ebay supplier, and with F1 Assymetrics, the price is pretty reasonable compared to the ebay seller with the same tyres :)

Heh heh! Good lad! You got a panel filter in yet? I have been advised that you really need to have something other than the OEM paper filter ;).
