Hey, i was wondering if somene can help me. I have the fR130tdi, looking for a new system come summer time... Milltek seems to be the best overall but i was wondering if someone can post up sound or video clips so i can hear what they sound like. specially the difference between resonated and non.

will be looking at catback for now. Only reason i asking is my previous car i had a remus centre and powerflow box, it sounded alright but was way to bass'y and was generally to loud.

many thanks

Found a couple on youtube, next question would be how will this aid in bhp gains with a 160 intake, green panel filter and remap.

excellent if you can, im thinking single oval exit rather than 2 3inch (if that) exits. looking at your signature i asume i should hope to get near 190bhp from those mods then? :D i was thinking for 180 if that... so bonus!

Yep, I have had my Milltek fitted today, down pipe and system.
It is awesome!!!!!!!!!
Mint noise and its the resonated system. Im running it with Carbonio intake, silicone hoses etc and its going like a train

Iv got turbo back non res on mine. I love it! :D

Only hear it when put foot down, dead quiet when driving along at steady speed, so best of both worlds, dont bother with resonated one, theres no point!

yeah mines turbo back not resonated, and its very quiet. bit louder on full throttle, and you get nice turbo spool noise from it. non res is cheaper too.

Shall i search or can someone tell me the difference between resonated and non resonated?

Im thinking of getting a system on my pd130 sport but a)dont know wich one is best b) dont know how much itll cost, all fitted n all.

I would like the best of both world, quiet when crusing but ruthless when flooringit!

resonated have a box on the centre section that keeps them a bit quieter. I have one as I didnt want a loud exhaust system, just wanted looks, performance and a bit of a note when you accellerate.
non resonated are designed to sound like petrol exhausts rather than a diesel noise. No box on centre section. Sound like a petrol performance exhaust

Id most likely choose the Resonated, which one has better performance or is it too minimal to worry about?

Hope much would a system cost approx on a PD130 sport do you know?

Thanks :)

tbh i've a non resonated and it's very quiet most time. Not like a petrol at all. cat back will be around the £300 mark for a milltek. performance between the two is nothing really. but non res is cheaper.

theres loads of site to check the price.

I know Phill Millington, owner of Milltek and dealt with him personally. He described the difference between the 2 as how I described it in my last post. The non resonated was designed to sound like a petrol exhaust.

The resonated is quiet at idle, but when you accellerate past around 3000rpm you get a nice parp from it. I have mine combined with a Carbonio, and full silicon hose setup and it sounds mint in my opinion

Would that be the price of the system, will then need to get it fitted?

So the difference between the 2 systems is quite simply the sound they return. Ill have to search youtube for some videos on different sounds! :)

Thanks
Stu!

^^^ this is the best way to describe the difference between the systems. Remember also that if you go for a downpipe too that tends to add more noise again.

Oh and we are offering free fitting on Milltek's this month on top of our constant 10% discount :)

i find my non res to be very quiet, but then my last car was a v6 with two 4inch cans and a supercharger fitted on.

:O Wow what a discount, I'm going to check out your website now to have a looksie :)

I'm going on holiday on Sunday till nearly the end of the month! (29th) and not sure ill make it in time to get the car in (if I do decide).

If I don't manage to catch it how much extra would fitting be?

Kind Regards
Stu!
