Mod Chip!!! Probably stupid but......

Hi people

I have bought a chip of ebay which promises +20 BHP on my seat ibiza, sounds good so far... but it cost only £3.99 , and it just a resistor . To fit it i new to add the resistor to the air intake tempreture sensor, cos i'm a newbie to all the modding stuff, can anyone tell me where the senor is. I have a Mk3 ibiza 02, pictures we be most helpful.

I did back to back dyno runs on mine.. it's meant to trick your inlet temp sensor to make it look like it's colder than it is - and put more fuel in. but the exhaust lambda sensor realises it's overfuelling & cuts it back.

end result - you just paid £3.99 for something that costs £0.0012 but that doesn't make your car faster

Sorry, but the only effect it can have is a placebo effect.

I'd recommend you put it in the bin..... you're fooling your engine into thinking (I assume) that there is more air travelling through the MAF, so it'll add extra fuel.

Running rich for a long time is likely to cause bore wash and blow your engine.

It's £3.99 'cos that's how much it's worth (actually it isn't worth anything like that).

Never mind its only £3.99... sounded to good to be true, is there any recommended Mod chips then, i have a Ibiza Chill 1.4 and the performance is pants.

I understand where you are coming from Chrissy, but there have been two technical answers why not to in the first two replies so there is no need to ask the question again further down the thread.

Plus try googl'ing the "ebay performance resistor chip" and you'll read about another million similar topics warning you off them, so it's not just the people on here.
