Central Locking and Key Problem Seat Ibiza 2001

I have trawled through the achives and cannot find a problem like this, 6 months ago my key fob stopped working, I changed the battery, tried to re-code it, it didn't work I wasn't that bothered as I could still use the key manually,Yesterday I tried to get into my car, not only did the central locking not work It wouldn't unlock the Drivers door at all, It seems as though there is no pressure against me turning the key, the only way I can gain access to the car is through the boot, When I press the lock/unlock button inside nothing happens (I have changed all relevant fuses). When I leave the car and lock from the Drivers door it automatically locks the boot, so it seems the Central locking works in the locking direction but not unlocking, obviously another major problem I am going to get in a couple of days is that the petrol cap is locked!

Anyone please help!!!

Many of the ones that I have already seen on here, the barrel may explain why the key doesnt work, but why won't the central locking button inside work?

Sorry to budge in, but I have a question regarding the petrol cap.

My petrol cap never locks...I noticed that there is the pin which is supposed to slide into the hole, thus securing the cap. However it doesn't. Not when the car is running or when I lock the doors. Anyone any ideas?

the actuator to make it shut is dead. buy a new one from seat and fit it. as said above by me, it is hidden behind the carpet in the boot.
hope that helps :)

Solved, It was the paddel for the lock, the twisty bit snapped, bought a new one from VW £10 awesome, Very interesting about the cord behind the carpet though

Thanks for input guys
