i am being thick or something why does it matter how big it is surly the turbo sucks as much air as it needs to spool, it depends on what its made of that resticks the turbo and it is fine gourse so its better than a cotton filter!!

if you had a time limit to drink as much as you can

you were drinking through a straw
your mate were drinking out of pint glasses

who would drink more?

another words, to get more air in, you need more "area" for the air to enter..... "area of suction"

a good example but not strickly true, say you were both using the straws to drink yeah!!! one had a flaired end on his straw and one had a normal one, they would drink the same as the restriction is the pipework into the turbo on not whats on the end!!

i know the induction side on these turbos makes a hell of a difference, but my car has not felt as fast with any other filter on even the one atp supply im still getting good mass flow readings so im happy, not being funny but i cant see how having a smaller filter on makes much difference the restriction is in the pipework not filter, material will have definatly but its not as fine as a cotton so will flow more!!

that will improve spool alot

but i think its in the actual nature of your turbo though, you will get it down bit equel length and 1.9 but thats alot of £££ just to get your spoolup time quicker, it would be cheaper replacing the turbo witha faster spooling one wouldnt it?

the equal lenth mani and a 1.9 would also icrease torque and HP aswell as seeing the spool time decreased..

the other thing is... why hasnt anyone done a twin scroll setup yet ? or would that be asking too much from a 1.8 engine ?

back to flow.

2meters of 2" pipe will flow less than 1meter of 2" pipe connected to 1meter of 4" pipe,
although they both have a 2" restriction.

as for turbos.

a eliminator is a mid budget turbo made to be stuck on to have large gains with minimum work.

why buy a turbo for its easy installation then spend loads of money and time trying to make it good.

!? beats me

go all the way from day 1 or just squeeze a few horses from a stock motor
