Just wondering what the fastest speed any one has done in their LCR? ( on private roads of course).
Been on a 350 mile trip this weekend the longest since owning the car march this year and it didnt seem like it would ever stop, well until the police stopped me!!!

I thought standard was about 150, remapped one might be closer to 160 ish.

Not a wise discussion to get into on a public forum but i've seen LCR speedos go by 160 very very slowly. stop just about 162mph (154mph on Road Angel) after a 4 mile plus run. didn't seem to want to go ant futher. that was a non mapped car!

its not a great discussion to have if u declare u got to these speeds on public roads. as long as people make it clear they used a track then he ho to them. i myself have never been near any of them speeds, i tend to get to high 30's (wrote like that on purpose). think re-map helps the car to get to speeds quicker (including top end) but its not a physical component to the car so cant make physical difference.

think re-map helps the car to get to speeds quicker (including top end) but its not a physical component to the car so cant make physical difference.

But it will help it with acheiving a higher top speed, the LCR doesn't hit the rev limiter in 6th at the 150mph book speed, it will go faster, poss up to a 165mph actual speed if it had enough power to overcome the forces acting on it, wind resistance, tyre friction and all the rest that stop it bouncing the limiter in top!

So technically a remap does help increase the top speed.

going by speedo and rev counter

160mph @ 6.5k rpm

if you had a long enough "runway or track" it would do a little bit more but probaly not much maybe 6mph or 7mph (speedo reading)

i cant remember how to do it, but you take the ratio of the final drive and that lets you work it out, i cant remember exactly how you do it, but its something along those lines, I know you have to take into effect drag caused by the car, but the Leon i believe as a fairly decent drag co-efficiant so should hit the 160 ish mark at a guess working on just the basic mechanics.
Not that you can do that on the public road, its suicide if you ask me.

You can see 160mph if the conditions are right on a non-mapped car. A 2 mile straight will also help (brunters)

The O2M gearset will allow for a theoretical top speed of 162mph at 6500rpm, assuming you have the power to get there.

There have been many threads on this in the past... I believe one LCR was clocked at 161mph on a vmax run, something to do with a track event with pistonheads.

V-MAX runs at Bruntingthorpe. IIRC they even had a Ibiza that did 165mph
