My Leon FR mods so far

This is my leon fr. Ihad the upgrade wheels but there was a few fr's in my area that looked similar so decided to change my wheels. I went for the vw r32 replicas in 19inch, but im still trying to decide if i want to get them powder coated ancarthite or leave them as they are
What do you's think??? if anyone could do a photoshop to show how this would look that would be great.

Also thinking about lowering it but worried if it would make the ride even harder, was thinkin lowering it 30mm, if anyone has done this with 19inch wheels what are your thoughts??

The other mods i have done is added the side skirts, spoiler, Gloss black rally mudflaps, Cupra grill and door center post and rear door handle. I have also added the rear duplex exhauts which im very happy with, and added a HID upgrade kit from HIDS4U. I have recently fitted the VW shark fin aerial which i think looks a lot better.

In front of a PC....
I actually quite like that. Pretty smart and certainly individual looking.
How do you find the Shark Fin aerial for reception? I have been toying with the idea of changing mine.

I had the standard mudflaps on but when i got the side skirts on obviously the fronts would'nt fit and the road to my house had been recently re done so i was getting loads of tar over my car (bloody council) so the easy option was the rally mudflaps. I like the duplex exhuast but dont like the btcc body kit and every fr has the standard exhaust so i wanted to do mine differently.

When i got the shark fin aerial i thought being from vw the connection would be the same as the seat, but i was'nt so i has to cut the plug of the original 1 and soilder it on to the new aerial, the reception is ok, its not great depending where i am, but i dont listen to the radio anyway so i does'nt bother me, i just have my ipod on shuffle.

I like it mate, bet those wheels are a pain in the arse to clean though! It doesn't look like it needs lowering to me that must be the first Leon I've seen that doesn't mind!

Looks good.

Where did you get the spoiler and skirts sprayed and fitted ?
I was looking for a good bodyshop round Coatbridge/ Airdrie way.

Thanks,
JJ

I'd get them powder coated in anthracite straight away - it generally works well on the FR and would suit red just as much. This is mine here.

The only thing I don't like on yours is the dual exhaust, a bit too 'loud' imo. Still, very nice!

Crying out for a couple of FR logos underneath the side repeaters.

Best tenner I have spent on mine, makes the car look.....well....different.

Would certainly look good on a red vehicle!

The mudflaps i got off fleebay. if you type in rally mudflaps the company was performance creations, they don't do a specific set for the mk2 leon so i got golf ones and screwed them in to the mudguard. I think they were around the £50 mark.

I got them and painted fitted from the dealer when i got the car. If you just want them painted and fitted try hollandhurst garage down hollandhurst road, just off sunnyside road. Ive had stuff done by him before and he was pretty good.

10/10 for that one m8, it looks the dogs!

Those alloy's are a very unique choice, and really do suit the car well. Not so keen on the mudflaps upon first impressions, but I think they'll grow on me.

Anything else planned?

I like the power coating idea - get them in black? That would look good on a red car.

As for lowering it, im going to have to sit on the fence with that. Leon's on 17/18's look better lowered so the wheel fill's the arch a bit more. The alloy's you chose already do an excellent job of doing that, so maybe it's better as it is?

A 30mm drop will also give an erm, "jiggly" driving experience on our less than perfect roads. You have any fillings? They'll be coming out if you do!

ha ha, yeah ive thought about that, my girlfriend thinks it's a hard ride as it is, i think it would look great but dont think its worth it the state the road are in up here.

Im considering getting the wheels powder coated, getting a few qoutes and that'll make me decide wheather i'll be doing it just now or not.
