sorry i only just seen that. I agree mate it just wouldn't. Those clios aren't slow in any respect and they reve really hard. i was just trying to say to the person who wanted to buy one that they can be quick for relitivly no money. 400 for a map and u have a brilliant everyday car thats quick and nimble with no draw backs

BCM, I'm not getting into the internet no your car can't do that type debate as their pointless, I was offering the guy my experience with the clios, big long straight near where I live from 50 by 120 his headlights were in the rear view mirror by at least 100m.
Either he didn't have the confidence in himself to keep up past whatever speed or the car wasn't quick enough, as he was trying.
Mine was RR in july producing 160 at fly and 146bhp at wheels, so slightly over factory figures.
Anyways thats my experience of the 172s etc.
Did have mine mapped in august but after a couple of weeks of it hitting limp mode due to map I had it put back to standard map, so I know the difference between a mapped and standard cupra, and yep theres a fair old difference hence its getting CC remap this sat.

Thats what I'm talking about Ganda, an equal race with both drivers that give it the same and have the same skill, standard for standard, i know what would win.

i just sold my clio 182 to get a standard ibiza fr and the clio was quite a bit faster than the standard fr if you rev it hard (they really take off after 5k but before 5k they are a bit flat). the 1.8t remapped should easily beat a 182 though.

Well kinda pleased with the results, the cars virtually standard so hers the results

148.5bhp @ fly, 112bhp @ wheels 164lbft of torque

bit lower than standard power but higher torque which was a bit confusing???

Had a straight line drag race with a 182 clio (well 177bhp) straight after it on the motorway and pulled past him all the way up to max speed which was weird, I thought he would have left me for dead as his is much more powerful

you will have more torque than a clio, they may have more bhp but that means nothing without torque! my car got dyno'd at jabba yesterday and although it only made 126bhp (up from 115 as standard) it made 148 lb/ft of torque which is why i can out accellerate a focus st170!

Owning a almost standard LC... I can confirm that from the standing start the Clio 172/182 is faster, but coming out of a roundabout onto a dual carriage way I can keep up with a 172 (not tried a 182). The gap stays exactly the same.
