hello there,I dont know the best place to ask this so i had to open up a thread for it

Im considering an Alpine Type X sub (SWX-1243D) here

it is 1000watts rms so i dont know what kind of amp it needs,I know i should go for a monoblock amp but which one?im in the £300 and under price range,i have seen this one here. its an Alpine MRP-M1000.
would that be enough?

alternatively im looking at this double sub, Vibe CBR12 Twin EVO Active 1100watts rms however i am only assuming the amp that comes with it can power it to max potential, its here

some advice would be very appreciated!

get the alpine, dont bother with the vibe. What are your aims?

If the 6x9's are in the parcel shelf either box them in or ditch them all together.

To get good sq your gonna have to get a custom box made for that type x.

Havent heard a type x before but the type R's have good SQ. Perhaps a cheaper option would be to go for 2 type r's and then you would also have double the cone area.

Type X's are on a different level than type R,the difference is very well noticable. and yeah iv seen a few good monoblocks around the same steep price,i will check that out.but why do the 6x9s have to be boxed or ditched?they produce the best sound compared to front components in my opinion.

Back from the dead
the 6x9 drivers if placed in the rear shelf will conflict with the sub(s).

As the subwoofer(s) push a lot of moving air, that air will force the the 6x9's bass cone to move involuntarily, as the cones are exposed underneath. Not only will this knacker their sound, it may also damage the speaker internals of the 6x9's. If you box them in, this would limit any damage / degradation to their sound.

6x9's are a great way to get more bass if you have no sub at all (well better than a standard circular cone speaker), but I always think the less complicated the set up the better.

A set of X type components in the front doors and a good sub in the boot is great for front end listening. If you have passengers in the rear regularly then bung some components in the rear doors if you must.
