right. i started running it in on mineral oil.

i got 18 miles into running in and the fuel pump started get louder. then it went away.

then it started miss-firing like a coil pack so i stopped. turned it off, started again and it was still running on 3 cyl. gave it a little rev and cleared so pulled off again but few hundered meters later it starts missfiring again and engine managment flashed on and off. i gave in and towed it home.

im confident it isnt coil pack as it wont idle now so need to investigate

Have you got fuel in it mate? Mine did this twice when i was low on fuel??? Once i put a good amount of fuel in then its back to normal

wondering if your new pump is just vacuuming out the pipe from the fuel pump?

ay? not sure what you mean by that?

do you mean the new one is pulling too fast compared to the old one and creating a vaccum? should it pull thru it?

Do you have one single size diameter pipe from intank pump to inline? Also is your intank pump actually working? Fuel being sat that long isnt good either really. If a its not a coilpack or spark plug (which im assuming the latter are new anyway) what about the wiring to the coilpacks. Heat effected one or mayb while you were doing some work in the bay one has been weakened.

Yip was running on 3 cylinders, i thought here we go - coil packs have gone but i put petrol in and it dissapeared. Its happened twice to me.

Fill it up with a tank of optimax and hopefully it sorts it out

When I first fitted an intank S3 pump, one of the fuel clips came loose. I experienced these same symptoms. I would fill up and it was cured until the level of the fuel reached the top of the pump again.

I'm not suggesting this is the problem, but to me it also sounds fuel related rather than ignition.

pj there is a small section on the way into the pump where the line gets bigger but its all standfard fuel line apart from that.

all the wiring looks ok i checked that 1st

htc, the s3 pump was new on the day i blew up my engine so only done 50 miles

I take it you blocked off the connection at the top that would usually run to the second tank on the S3?

yea ive had 3 s3 pumps now so i converted them a few times.

it runs again!!!! no fuel lol

turned ignition on, 1/4 tank on guage

put 20L v-power in...guage says 1/8th tank

go and get another 20L, put it in.....needle doesnt more from the rest position and red light comes on.

drive to fuel station, fill it up to the brim.....still empty now :S

not sure whats gone on but it runs

possible bill. like i say it seemed ok when i ran it on gt28 but it may have been reading wrong and i never got low on fuel in the 24hrs i had it lol.

i will pull it out to have a look. maybe seized up from sitting for 8 months
