Guys, I think i'm in need of a new battery, mines flat this morning, cant think wy, i had the radio on yesterday for about 2 hours, not sure whether thats enough to do it, but it did previously go flat when i left the interior light on for 36 hours, without realising, and it had to then have a booster connected to the battery.

I've never replaced it since having the car, so see it as reaonable to swap.

I think i'm going to uprate the battery, and have looked at the Odyssey PC680, which i think a few people on here have used with no probs. I'm also going to use this opportunity to move the battery to the boot.

Is this battery ok to use, and to move to the boot?

I've found it for about £104 delivered at http://www.thebatteryshop.co.uk/pc680-odyssey-278-p.asp

Can anyone recommend anywhere else to pick them up from?

Whats the chances of being able to pick on up in a local store? As that would be easiest for me.

Any other recommendations?

Thanks Tom

Just cause its a bike battery doesn't mean it won't be good enough for a car mate. But as i don't know what spec battery is in the cupra as standard i can't compare them at the moment.

Yes but only 220 cold cranking amps which with our could winters is not going to be great for your car. The odyssey also has a lot lower aH rating than even the standard battery so it won't last for very long if you leave your lights on or radio on. And then definately won't want to start your car.

Ian, if i get a Battery i'll do a guide, i've got one in prgress for another item, which i'll add soon.

Thinking about it though, its straight forward just lengthening the power cable.

Hardest part is gettin the cable through the car, and thats not even that difficult.

Heres my shopping list...

4AWG Amp wiring kit (cant be any thinner, 0awg is probably better but i havent had any problems)
2 battery terminals
Earth distribution block (2 x 4awg 4 x 8awg connections)
small length of 8awg wire to move the fuse pack whereve you want to.
Battery tray for boot

And thats it.

dist. block is for the cable from the battery to split it, one to the starter motor then one to the fuse box.
