as luck would have it my Strut brace AND Rear ARB arrived today.
So after about an hour of spannering they are both on.
And all i can say is If your thinking about doing this DON'T

Just bloody do it, it's fantastic. . . . .

I think the ARB does more than the strut brace, but the two combined makes a world of difference and the ride is virtualy unchanged,
it just turns in and holds a tighter line, And if your into that kind of thing lift off oversteer is there aplenty it's a riot
Big thanks to Jabbasport for the ARB and LC Charles for the strut brace

I'll post pics when it's day light :D

Another happy Jabba RARB customer :)

Mine is bloody good on the bends - zero bodyroll and good all round grip!

Good stuff, I really want to do these too. I know the front strut brace is quite easy but it sht rear ARB bar quite easy? I have some ramps. Is it just those 2 bolts?

pretty much. the hardest part is bending the arb bush clamps into shape around the beam.
as I said I did them both in around an hour and I only used ramps.

Following on from this was thinking is it worth having it 4 wheel aligned now ??
just to make sure the strut brace hasn't pulled the front out of line ??
And if so is there a magical set of numbers that I could give to the chaps that are doing the spannering (castor/camber etc) that is better than stock road settings but still give good tyre wear, noticed the fronts are wearing on the inside edge as it is !

There are these settings :http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=1843970#post1843970 but expect that while turn in will be better it will eat the insides quite quickly.

To be honest most 4 wheel laser align places have computers with all the settings stored on them, they just need an option code from your boot, mine was G25 = sports suspension, dont expect much adjustment on the rear if its out though, the only thing you can do is shim the rear!!!!

Surely you're not gonna have put your tracking out because you haven't actually moved the strut? If you'd have taken it out then maybe....

Exactly, you just remove the securing screws and then screw them back in. If the strut had actually moved, the holes wouldn't be in the same place and the screws wouldn't go back in :)

was just about to say that, unlikely as it sounds Kwick-Fit in Newcastle have such a machine, they did mine and I was happy, not too dear either, just don't expect the rear to be perfect, within factory tollerances is all you can expect:blink:

Well factory tollerances is still alot better than not aligned properly at all and messing up the handling and causing serious ware and tear.
