Depends on your style of driving and the type of journey.

I've averaged 60mpg over the last 5k miles in a remapped 130PD but my daily commute is 100 miles of flowing country road with barely any town driving and I drive fairly gently.

If you were doing a lot of shorter journeys, around town without the engine getting up to full temp (which can take at least 10-15 miles in my car) it will bring your average down quite a bit.

You might should notice an improvement both in economy and performance as the engine starts to loosen up a bit, especially after the first couple of services.

is the 1.4tdi lump a 3cyl? My mum has that engine in her fabia with around 40k miles on the clock and gets 60+mpg. Same roads as I drive right enough and she drives like, well, my mum!

I'm getting between 50-55 from my Cupra TDI with 4.5k on the clock. It's creeping up from the 45-50 it was getting when new.

My journeys are 65 mile round trips with a mixture of town traffic and crusing at 60.

get some miles on these things people! you should notice it loosen up after about 20k and the mpg should get better all the way up to 80k plus after which it levels off. Drive it properly as well, oil up to temp then drive quite hard it will loosen the engine up sooner and give better mpg sooner, all discussed in the TDI FAQ

1.4tdi

ive owned myn a year now, i previously had a honda civic sport, and the ibiza is in a diffrent league, i had the refrence sport and the car is excelent, a year on from new it is quieter, quciker and does far more mpg.
i have just ordered a seat ibiza FR tdi because of how big of an impression the ibiza made on me and i shal be sad to see the 1.4tdi go.

they are excellent cars. (if a bit ruff when new)

suprisingly nippy to :D

does have twin exhaust pipes, but there hidden under the bumper

sorri dont know how to post picture, look to the right
