Ibiza Cupra Sport F2

Hi, whilst clearing out some old paperwork i found an Ibiza promotional leaflet from 1998. On the back of the leaflet is an advert for a F2 spec Ibiza with 200bhp, 6 speed box and F2 wide arches etc.. Just wondered if anyone has one or has seen one.

WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT - i think rally rules meant so many road going versions had to be made?

Never seen one for sale or in the flesh though

F2 regs meant none had to be built...

SBG (who ran the UK F2 cars) made up a road car for promotion. none were ever made, or ever were going to be.

The car had wide track suspension, and wide arches, massive spacers on the rear IIRC.

The engine was a stock 150bhp one.

The car was then decommissioned at the command of SEAT, because they should never have made it.

Yeah, I saw R200 CUP on the Seat stand at the motorshow in Birmingham in what must have been 1997? I'd just bought my 8v and I wanted one!

Seperate question but I really like headlights, does anyone know where to get them from? Or are they not road legal?

I would guess those headlights aren't road leagal, i think tehy were the nighttime ones and were meant to have the full beam rack to go with them

was talking to RobT yesterday he tells me theres another ex-works WRC for sale around the £45k mark.

also, all hewland sequential gearboxes and spare parts have been bought by a brazilian to run in a specific series over there which specify that particular gearbox.

so no spares, ever, at all, you'd have to have deep pockets if you broke one!

Would love the f2 arches but the work to get the wheels out to fit them, unless you take the easy way and have huge spacers! lol

Still got me thinking of the bonnet vent mind hehe
