Hi folks sorry that this thread is about a golf mk4 but think i might be useful as presume the same sensor would be same on a Leon.
Right my mate bumped his golf 20vt today and now the car wont start and had to have it towed home, but the guy that picked it up reckons that there is a sensor (knock sensor maybe!?) on them to cut the fuel pump in a bump. Anyone heard of this and know where it is and how to resolve it. The car doesnt have much damage to be honest so should be starting.
Cheers all

There is a cut off switch to kill the ignition and fuelling in some makes and models of cars. Not sure about where it is or the reset but needs to achieve a certain G before triggering.

cheers, guess it must be under the bonnet somwhere on the fuel line but just wondering if anyone knows where it could be. Its a nightmare cos the car is drivable but just cant start it.

mmm! bit of a strange one then. cant understand it to be honest unless the bump has popped a fuse or relay (as DPJ says). Take it the relay is under the bonnet on the passenger side? Reckon the drivers airbag going off might have something to do with it then?

You reckon fault might show on Vag-com then?

hello mate most cars have a battery cut off on the possative battery terminal that breaks a contact when the airbag has gone off cuts the power to various ecu,s its usually under the red plastic cover.
