S3 Intercooler successfully installed on my Cupra

I finally managed to install a S3 intercooler on my Cupra the other day.

Installation was an absolute nightmare and took me about 5 hours to complete freezing my butt off in the driveway...

But the results are definitely worth it! :D

It feels like the engine runs more smoothly through the gears now.
My buttdyno is shoving a small increase of torque in the entire rpm range. [B)]

Pictures of the mounting procedure can be found here:

Nice, thanks for sharing. Good collection of photos you have there. Quick question is it easy to get the front bumper off? Could you explain how and do you have photos?

Cheers :)

So the OEM S3 pipes work?

Will be good to see and compare r/r results with stock and S3 intercooler.

Exactly! The OEM S3 pipes fits perfect...
Cupra pipes are held in place by a wierd spring clip. The S3 pipes on the other hand are held in place by hose clamps not utilizing the spring clips.

very interesting. I would have thought they S3 and cupra would have used the same intercooler seeing as the cupra has been getting 260ish on the dynos.

S3's are also making more than the quoted power from Audi ;)

so has anyone got the item codes for all the parts i need to install the S3 intercooler

cheers

You'll need the following part numbers:
S3 Intercooler > 1K0 145 803 P
S3 Left Pressure hose > 1K0 145 834 AA
S3 Right Connection hose > 1K0 145 832 L

You'll also need ten 16mm x M6 bolts (preferrably with umbraco heads) with washers in order to install the S3 intercooler... that's it!

This thread at Golf5gti.com was my main source of inspiration, before installing the S3 intercooler...

Sorry mate I was a little too fast copying the link from another thread...
Link should be fixed now... :)

There's a noticable difference in the midrange the car pulls a lot harder.

Total cost was around £240 for the parts alone. :)
