Fr Key Badge - Fitted

Try golfturbo - he seem very helpful [ if the quantities are there it should be a goer]

I might be interested in this too, but I'm not sure if it would look a bit OTT, being that there's already an FR logo on the steering wheel.

Anyone able to photochop one up and we can gauge interest?

Nice one!

Yeah i think there's probably enough FR badges on the wheel, now if there was a big FR and and a small S at the bottom that might be the one...

Having trouble getting my old one off without making a mess of the black plastic.

Not received mine yet (a week...) though so no rush...

Agreed H8T - I think the R ones look sportier than the FR badges, even if not that accurate for mk2...

I think Chippenhamwilts means it will be easier to pick out which car parked nearby that the keys fit...if you're stupid enough to lose them...

..mind you, same goes for the normal Seat badge as most models are pretty rare cars around here...

yeah im dreading it.. dont want to ruin it :(

maybe somehow heating the glue slighly.. i was thinking about heating up a small knife to get under the S badge and break up the glue then some white spirt on a cotton ear bud to get old sticky stuff off ready for the new one

Try heating it with a hair dryer and using some fishing line (if you have it) lift up one side gently and work way across with fishing line, this wont damage the key, its the best way to remove exterior badges etc well.

Liking the heat idea. Have used dental floss in the past. Saying that I had a hair dryer in the past too...

It is here btw.

10 minutes on a radiator and it's off. Just with a normal Swiss army knife blade too.

Finally got round to swapping my badges and...oh dear...what a dogs dinner I made of that...:headhurt:

Tried the heat method on a radiator as suggested, to 'soften' the glue...but would the little b**stard budge...??!! [:@]

I used a stanley knife to try to get under the edge of the old badge but due to lack of patience slipped a couple of times, scoring the plastic quite badly...

Anyway, after completely wrecking the old badge and having to bend it upwards to prise off (the old glue just did not want to let go..:censored:) I finally got the new badge fitted after a frustrating 20 minutes...

It certainly looks good and was probably worth it but just be careful not to mark your fob like I did...numpty..!.

Ouch...!

I suppose they are cheap enough, but I couldn't guarantee I wouldn't mess it up again...
