hi, ive recently just put some new alloy wheels on my formula sport. the standard one's are 16'' with 205/45/16 but the new alloys are 17'' with 205/40/17. You would think that the handling of the car would be the same or even slightly better with 7.5x17 alloys and new tyres (ramdom new premium performance tyres) but the standard alloys and tyres give better grip round corners? do you think its down to the types of tyres? if so any1 kno some good tyres brand which give good grip for the right price?

thanks

Get toyos or GSD3's for tires and yes your car will perform slightly worse in all departments due to having bigger alloys.

However if you stick on the toyos or GSD3's when you get your new bigger alloys the car will be better in all departments apart from accerlertaion.

Hi

Was looking for some info on tyres, got an FR petrol with the standard 16's on (205/45). It has pilot HX's on which are coming to the end of their life. Was looking at GSD3 and Pzero Nero as a replacement tyre. Any thoughts?

PZero Neros aren't that good. I have Toyo T1Rs on mine now. They are better than the PZeros but still better ones out there

I had the P-Zero Neros as standard fit on my Cupra and wasn't too impressed. I've now got Toyo PX4s on there and they seem better, but how much of that is down to the fact I have new tyres on there instead of the worn ones I don't know. Guess it doesn't help that it's still damn cold out there.

Hey - cheers for the replies, already been on black circles and they look to be the best price at the moment. They have a fitting place about 4 miles up the road too!
