Oh and seriously, where's the bloody transponder!??

It's a small glass cylinder (about the same size as a Tic-Tac).

Depends which key you have, if it's a non-remote then it should be to one side of the bigger section of the key.

If it's a remote key the I believe it's in the section where the battery is. I'll try & get a phone later today if I get chance to pop home in lunch break & post them up one here for you!

I got a Flippy key for mine, fully cut & programmed for....................£18.50 :)

Flippy Key off Ebay - £12.50

Blade cut - £5

Programmed it myself from the instructions in the Ibiza thread using my old "spare" keys transponder.

Be prepared to have a hard time getting the old transponder out though - it is a right tw@t

I ended up heating a knife on the hob & melting the housing away.

Be VERY careful when getting it out though as a lot of people shatter them when removing them.

Good look (and look in the Ibiza flippy key thread for programming instructions& other general help)

Well, there I was, all ready to rip the transponder out, but I can't bloody reprogram the remote part of the new key to the car (which I thought I'd try before getting it cut or ripping it up)

I've tried a few different methods but no joy. Ignition on, locking with spare, pressing unlock twice.

Other one was holding unlock while 1key in ignition, and the other spare locking/unlocking

etc.

Anyone got any tips. As I'm really hoping I didn't just waste 35 quid for a key of ebay or will have to run off any pay £100 for the dealer for their "1 hour labour and parts" :(

Whats the part number of the new key?

Did you buy a Flippy key, or just a new Seat Remote key??

I bought a Flippy key & it was the wrong part number. Have a hunt thru the Beeza key thread, as I'm sure I posted the part numbers to avoid in there.

I think the part number ended CG. 434mhz jobbie. I saw someone else post who's part number ended in C and his paired fine. Is it only supposed to be the A/AG ones that pair up???

Actually, |I think part number was CT.

Should I lob the key?

I spoke to my local VAG specialist, who said they could pair the key for me for a minimal amount (10quid or something) would they be able to do this for me, seeing as the standard method doesn't work.

I take it, switching the transponder from my spare should work as usual. At least this way, it's only a tenner extra and I won't have to buy a new key. Can anyone confirm for me??
