OK i'm no mechanic but found fitting the HIDs really easy. However i have been trying to change the sidelights for almost 20 mins and cant get the old one out!

Now i take it i am removing the black holder from the white holder by squeezing the 2 black clips together. But these black clips are flush with the white holder making it very hard to squeeze them, when i did manage to catch them nothing budged and i quickly lost my grip of them.

It is very frustrating and my hand is now bleeding :(

Has anyone got ANY tips? how hard is it to remove the whole headlight?

I asked the dealer to have a look while they were doing my brakes but said they couldnt cos theyre LEDs [:@]

Also i have now managed to make the sidelight not work - probably from my continual yanking of it.

Anyone any ideas?

I've tried with thin pliers, tweezers, a knife and no luck [:@]

Do i just need to be more persistant??

You don't have to touch any clips on the black bulb holder. It should just pull out. Try giving a little twist and pull at the same time. Try not to pull too much on the wires. Although you may have done this if it's not working. Might need to clip back in or resolder if you can remove it :)
If you do manage to remove it, put a smear of vasiline or grease around the outside of the holder so it's easier next time.

I have 6000k HIDs in my LCR for dipped beam and i recently purchased the same that Marshyvc recormended in this thread for sidelight bulbs, the white LEDs from ultraleds (http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/501194t10-mini-light-tower-leds-xenon-white-p-1545.html) and they are spot on! well worth the £5 or so.

Looks 10x better than the yellow that was next to the blue/white HIDs :D

And removing the sidelights did prove to be difficult, alot of wiggling and tugging (but being careful) was involved and scratched hands was the outcome lol :)

Ok thanks guys... i will be more 'persuasive' with them.

HI All,

Im looking at getting a HID conversion kit and found the below on Ebay, is this the right kit? Im sure i read a thread on here the other week that someone bought this kit from Hong Kong, the H1 kit?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....m=350024065254&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=022

I got mine from this shop, however if you are after the main beam then they are H7. I believe H1 are the full beam?

Is that question to me?

If so, why not, and front fog lights are illegal to use unless it's foggy ;)
Mines only get switched on at MOT time :)

Sorry, it wasn't directed at yourself - more of a general query. I always just assumed that you didn't need full beams when you had HID's. Obviously you *need* them for flashing and MOT etc, do people just upgrade the bulb for looks or do you still need the full beams with HID's.

Yeah the difference is unreal through dark lanes/ empty stretches of A roads.
I upgraded because well i could  didn't like the unevenness of the front lights.
I tried PIAA but they were no comparison.

I did a vid hope you can make it out obviously the naked eye is better ;)
