Stock Head-Unit to Amp Pre-Out?

Does anyone know which device i will need to convert my standard head-unit to get an amp pre-out??

Done some research into it but cannot find anything also looked on google and fairly hard to see which connection i require!!

Anyone else done this to their MK3?

I have put an amp into my car using a converter that converts the speaker wire into an amp outmut so that you can connect your amp upto it.

Most car audio stores can supply them if they are not in stock.

Sould not cost any more than £10.

From there buy your amp kit and then off you go.

I would say that to turn your amp on you need a live feed wire to get the amp to turn on ( there is a name for it, cant remember, think remote wire) but obviously your headunit does not have the ability to do this so what I did was I ran a single wire from the battery to the amp so that it had a constant feed from the battery and then just put a switch in it so that I can turn the amp on and off when I like.

I have done the while install on my car so if you need any questions answering just ask.

Have a good way of installing a ipod connector as well that does not use the tape deck either.

why did you not just use the ignition wire going into the back of the stereo?

I did it that way so that I am able to turn my amp on and of without having to turn the stereo off.

I have done it like this, so If i am in town I can turn my sub off but still listen to music.

Its all so that I dont sound/look like a chav

If you look at the 3 plugs on the top you should be able to use one of these from autoleads saves chopping wires and should be plug and play really
