id guess they mean front arm, rear bushes, in wish case you can get a new lower arm with bushes and ball joints for £15 each, easy job to do as long as youve got a tool for splitting the ball joint from the hub,,

42216 FR TR CON ARM IBIZA ALL 13.75 Add
42217 FR TR CON ARM+BUSHES IBIZA 92> 19.50 Add

erm when i did my mk2 a couple of years back, one large bolt going upwards through the rear bush, one going sideways through the middle bush (captive or nut i cant recall ) and then the one for the ball joint... its not too bad if youve got an impact gun ;)

There's 3 13mm bolts under the lower arm for the ball joint..... An impact gun would be ideal.

Then a 18mm bolt at the rear of the lower arm (furthers away from the front of the car) and another 18mm bolt at the front of the lower arm.

The actual ball joint will stay on the up right and will just slide off the lower arm then pull like crazy to get the lower arm out.

There's no F in Quality..
did this on the gf's 1.4 for the last MOT..... 30min job literally :D

it's exactly as Dave said above, no need to split the ball joint, just leave it attached to the upright, and undo the 3 x 13mm bolts instead that hold the ball joint on to the wishbone ;)

can you think of any tips?

WD 40 isnt really a penatrating spray, we use WURTH 2040 Lubricant stuff at work, now thats the shite sorts most stuff out, only other thing if removing a rusty bolt/nut get a quality 6 sided socket if you can.

I snapped one of them bolts before but I was lucky enough to have some of the bolt out when it happened.

The part number for the 18mm bolt from VW/Seat

N 90484003

Giving it a go myself later, after reading the Haynes manual i have a few questions, it suggests replacing the bolts on the front and rear brushing of the wishbone when fitting new, was wondering whether this is required
