Does the leon have a fuel cut off switch? If so where is it?

Always handy to know incase you need to cut the fuel flow to the engine in an emergency isnt it:rolleyes:

Anyone know?

can't think why you'd want that.... but you would easily be able to run one from the Fuel Pump relay.

No real reason, just curious as i thought most cars had them?

I guess its incase of an engine fire, the 1st thing you would want to do is cut the fuel supply. Just wondered if anyone knew if there were 1

Just wondering thats all as i know the last 2 cars ive had have had them(CTR/scooby) Your probably right, on deployment of the airbags sounds logical, but then how would you get the fuel supply up and running again if needed, ie its a light impact but the car and wheels are still driveable.

I doubt anyone will really know the answer tbh

Ooh yeah... There'll be an inertia switch somewhere that cuts the fuel pump supply so it can't spray over the hot engine if there's a rupture. Hmm, wonder if one's fitted on diesels? I'd not even thought about it until now... Dead right that it's useful to know where it is though!

Mark....The only evidence i can find is in this article. Its for a TT but it ''should'' be the same and it appears you are correct. On deployment of the airbags, the fuel pump automatically switches off and unlocks the doors.

In the safety paragraph near the bottom.

The question is now where is the fuel over ride switch to get the fuel pump working again. In the event of a light impact where the airbags have deployed and the car is still driveable, it would be a pain in the arse not to be able to get a fuel flow into the engine meaning to drive off and to the nearest garage! There must be an over ride switch or maybe its a vagcom switch on only thing

I have installed a fuel pump cut off switch and hidden it in the car very well and with easy access.
Wired to fuel pump fuse wires at the back of the fuse box.

Use it everytime getting in and out of car.

Suppose gives me unnecessary further piece of mind if someone gets my keys for the car, they still cant drive it away. and if i get car jacked i can just flip the switch when being kicked out of the car and they wont be able to get away with it.

But noboby has any idea where it is on the leon then folks? Looking on the net it says that the mk3 (couldnt find mk4) golf has them behind a panel on one side in the boot. Going to have a look but if not bloke reckons to just follow the fuel line from the tank and will be on there if it has one. I thought it was a legal requirement aswell so a little puzzled :confused:
