I have a 1.4 and i am getting about 260 miles per full tank (35 litres, or about £40). This is really low though, and i think that my lambda sensor needs replacing.

The pool of water could be caused by something like the door/window seal leaking maybe. Do you have a sunroof? Also, on my old (1994) corsa there was a whole under the wheel arch, and water splashed in and made a puddle when it rained.

Water is probably a torn door liner letting water in, you changed the speakers or anything lately in the door? Soak that area of the car with a hose and look for water getting in........ theres not a more technical way i'm afraid.

An ibiza is a 9gallon tank full so if your getting 300miles your getting 34mpg, which for the cold isnt a bad figure, mines 28 on a good week!! To work out your MPG divide the number of miles you do by the number of gallons you've put in.

If you want it to get higher make sure its fully serviced, change at 2000rpm and be prepared to go very slow!
