Lol.. cheers mate, February should see big changelol - love my weekly read ups .... Keep it coming guys ...
Ian - looking good - But hey knew it would ....... So keep up the good work ...
Well, once the cage turns up and is fitted the front seats won't be needed anymore.. I'm kind of waiting until the whole lot is available but the lack of space in the garage is becoming an issue now!!I want to know when you will be starting to get rid of interior bits so I can get the stuff I need to finish mine!
Headlining, black carpet, black bootlid trim, black window winders, black sunvisors, black grab handles - I gots everything else (well, 'cept the dash but thats too big a job to change)
Nice to see the splitter goes on well too - how have you fixed it on, just chopped a bit and screwed?
So long as no one wants the entire job lot, certainlyWell, can I have the carpet and headlining please? I'll just have to get the little bits from VW or keep my eyes open
Yeah, I also still think it'll be a good idea to 'rebuild' the entire rear cross-beam assembly. Gaz's idea of bracing the rear strut does seem an ideal use for the existing cross-barGoing to need extra tubing too for the additional door bars/ rear cross brace too,
decided on seats?
I saw that too, but I thought everyone kept the plates of their write offs, I have the plates to the Polo I killed at 17!
still got the cordy plates for sentamentality in the garage i see

Its where I got my corbeau seats from
You can get OMP 40mm tube from tweaks but its only supplied in 1.2m lengths...
Nope, the closest thing I can get is 42.4 tube but its 2mm thick (heavyish!)
CDS tube is said to be anything between 1.5 - 2.5 thick, the tubing on mine is 1.5 ish for example, trouble is aquiring 'proper' stuff as its ridiculess in price per metre and getting it in lengths that are usable.
42.4 x 2mm would do the job but depends how fussy you are, it is only £9 for a 6 metre length
if its in the cabin - BOX IT !!
battery acid isnt nice when upside down - believe you me
