miss-fire & strange boost

had this problem for a while now.

Basically under load I get what sounds like a single cylinder miss fire, the car also won't hold boost and will start to drop at around 5k.

I also had the engine management light flash on and off for half a minute.

I think this could be down to a spark plug or coil pack, can anyone else provide some clues

Mine has started to stutter a bit on full boost in 3rd 4th and 5th. Sounds and feels like a missfire but Vagcom cant see it. Been doing it for around 2 months now, very annoying.

i had this problem got it checked out and found it to be a coilpack

can't the maf relate to boost issues also??

yea Maf can be best logging maf see what reading you getting.

ive had the maf off but the car wouldnt even idle.

Are the coils from coopers ok to use? And our there any plugs i should avoid?

Car should idle with maf still connected to the car but unplgged, unplug it with the engine off then start it. My missfire wasnt cured by new MAF, coils and plugs are next on my list too. I'd stick to Seat coilpacks if i was you.

yea the car idles fine,but when i tried starting it without the maf it wouldnt idle, TC light came on to!!!

I dont think this is the problem anyway just through gut feeling!

Is the a good place to source these coils as my local dealer arent to helpfull

TC will come on if MAF unplugged, engine light will also come on if MAF unplugged for a long period.

Any VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat dealer will supply you with coilpacks, search on here for the correct part number for the later revision coils.

coil no.2 was the problem for those of you with similar issues.went down the route of trial and error,lucky for me no.2 was the first one i changed!
