Auto Lock on Ibiza

Hi,

I have just been to my dealer to activate the auto lock facility and to get the doors to unlock when the key is removed from the ignition.

The guy told me that the latter had been enabled, which it has. It only unlocks the drivers door however and I would like to know if this is normal or should the passenger door unlock too?

Thank you
Terry

the car knows what doors you unlocked when you get in the car

for example if you only unlock the drivers door with the fob only the drivers door will open
i hope this makes sense

Hi,

Even when unlocking all doors with the keyfob, only the drivers door unlocks when the key is removed from the ignition.

Is this a fault?

Thanks

I'm fairly certain this is standard behaviour.
Resulting in passengers trying to tear the door handle off, not realising they have to pull it twice !!
My Mum is the worst, surprised she never broke it off. Now I try and hit the central unlocking button before her hand reaches the door handle.

I think the idea is that the car returns to the state when you originally unlocked the doors. In other words, if you pressed the button twice to unlock all the doors, it will revert to that when you remove the key. If you pressed the button once, it will only unlock the driver's door. I think that's the idea but I'm not sure it works in practice. I always use the unlock button on the driver's door when I stop.

my last mk 4 and my current one both only unlocked the driver's door even after pressing the remote twice before driving.
but once in a blue moon they would both unclock both doors. never worked out what i'd done differently. just weird.

Thanks for all of the replies, seems like this is normal then. At least I know its not a problem with my car.

Cheers
