Took my 55 plate tdi fr in for a 20k service. Phoned me a while late saying that the rear disc are needing replaced and at the same time (although the pads are ok) they advice new pads.
Should they disc not last longer than the pads especially at 20k.

To top it all off they have no come back to me and said they have nicked a pipe and they cant get a new pipe till tommorrow.

I doubt you'd get a warranty claim for discs - did they say what was wrong with them?

If the discs are shot but the pads are fine then that suggests to me that maybe the discs are pitted which will be caused by corrosion build up - likely as you don't drive the car much - 20k in nearly 2.5 years

10k since March last year when I bought it. So probably around 15k per year. More than average.

Rear discs on my LCR are shot too and its only done 20k,but its not wear its corrosion of the discs on the inside of the vents, going to change mine when i next service it,they dont do much anyway so im just replacing them with standard vented discs @ around £50 i think.

Its not really a question of money. I just thought that warrenty may of came into play as with only being one month over 2 years old, and only doing 20k. It does seam that corrosion has taken its toll therefor not a warrenty issue. If however the disc had been warped then I may of had a case. At the end of the day keeping a motor on the road is an expensive game these days. £240 for the service and £180 for rear discs and shoes. I will however plead my case that now I have to take time off work to travel 25mile to get the car back tommorow becuase of there mistake braking the pipe. It'll need 2 tyres in the next couple of week as
well. Ahhh the joys

Just going from what people have said before but SEAT warrenties dont seem to be worth the paper there writen on .
Personaly i wouldnt give them any money get a second opinion on the discs.
You can also get the service done a lot cheaper else where to.

Try looking for FALKEN fk452 tyres they get very good reviews and very good price, about £70 each

There was a grinding scuffing sound coming from the brakes mate has been like that for a couple of months now. I new something wasn't quite right. Wasn't sure if they were needing deglazed or a grit in them or something

Ps I can get F1 mate which I like, cheaper through my dads work. Although they have stopped makeing them now, there onto asmetrics or something like that now. Might be still some on the shelves though
