I had a look at this as am considering changing my head unit but from the looks of the website link they say you need a vehicle interface lead and a stereo patch lead. Any ideas if the existing one will do and you just get the head unit manufacturers patch lead or if you do need both parts?

 The Mk4 Ibiza isn't CANBUS though, but anything based upon the current MK5 Golf platform is.

if it doesn't use the canbus system, why do you need to buy a canbus adaptor as per the one mentioned above in order for the steering wheel controlls to work??? Why have i also been told to get a canbus 2-1 upgrade alarm for my new ibiza???

Can't see it listed here?

But then again they are talking about diagnostics, but I would imagine if there were CANBUS components in there, they'd go through some kind of CANBUS to K-Line interface box?

how much u looking for the alarm mate??? the wire that goes to the headunit, should go into the headunit's wired remote socket if it has one. I know my old sony headunit had a socket for a wired remote to be attatched.

From what I gather a patch lead is a lead to connect a stereo specific connections into the generic stalk adaptor connections, so you will have Sony, Alpine, Blaupunkt etc patch leads to fit into the generic connections
