Right, the day of crying has arrived. Clutch is slipping now, 19k miles on clock, remapped at 18k (phase 1)

Didn't think it would be this quick. Not had any time to save but I shall have to make good use of my overdraft.

Everyone I have had a quote from has tried selling me a flywheel too, and a SMF at that!

From the reviews/reports on here I don't want a SMF - they sound really annoying especially when most of my driving is stop/start.

So the best clutch to go for is the full Sachs clutch at £450.00 + VAT? Anyone know what these are actually rated at?

Going to get it booked in ASAP - just hope my flywheel is fine

did you get a really agressive map on it?

19k is very very low for a clutch to slip imo

That's a bit rough chap after only 1k on the remap. Still, we always know its a case of "when" and not "if" on the PD150's but 1k ? Its just tough luck I s'pose - still worth it though! :D

Not a aggresive map, well its not REVO.

Map was done by P-Torque but he did say my ECU was one of the 'good' ones and earlier that week he had the same ECU with a phase 1 of near 300lb/ft.

I did go through a bit of a big puddle yesterday but I'm sure that cant make a clutch slip?

single mass flywheels aren't that bad. I wouldn't go back to DMF again now. :)

They only rattle with the clutch out so if that annoys you greatly, just sit in traffic with the clutch depressed, and in 1st gear. :) Doesn't rattle then. If much of your driving is stop/start, this could be why the clutch has died quicker - sounds like the clutch gets some regular use to me, in comparison to someone who doesn't deal with traffic as much.

I got a 560 lb/ft clutch and flywheel for £600..... wink wink. :D

Yeah but your car rattles like a tin can anyway Jason so you wouldn`t notice the SMF very much. I didn`t really notice that much when i first had one fitted to my old PD160 but soon grew to hate the bloody thing as it was a bit like a dripping tap sort of effect where it`s not very load but soon gets bloody annoying.

Didn't u buy urs from America though? A favour from a m8 kinda thing. I dont know anyone in America so gonna have to pay the full UK rip off price :(

All I want is something that will hold the 300lb/ft torque. Looking very much like a JBS job so far.

Sachs organic disc rated 340lb and Helix rated 365lb torque but will hold more. I would give DBS a ring just to see if they are fitting an uprated clutch kit and BMF for £500 as you will be looking at paying more then that for just a clutch and labour. Worth a few hundred mile round trip if true.

That cost is for a standard clutch and flywheel (sachs). They did mine for me my car was remapped 1k ago after having done 10k on the new clutch and dmf. Mapped tto around 190 with approx 290lb ft and no clutch probs at all

Don`t see the point in replacing a standard clutch that is slipping with another standard clutch again as the same will soon happen. If money was really tight just fit an uprated drive/friction disc without an uprated pressure plate and using your stock pressure plate would be cheaper and a lot more effective.
