Just had a bump

I had a bump the same as this a couple of weeks ago.

The damage I have sounds exactly the same as yours (I tried to drive the car home after the bump but water was coming out from under bonnet and temp gauge was shooting up so I had to pull over), I hit a Renault Scenic and he had damage to just his bumper.

My car is currently in bodyshop being repaired (at least it will get rid of the stone chips (one rusty one) and the big dent I made in bumper a year ago.

My excess is £325 and my insurance is due for renewal next month, so goodbye my 3 yrs NCB to 1 yr! :(

Glad someone else spotted that!

I'm sure scenics and similar cars are prone to shunts.. I think the shape of them stops you from being able to read the road ahead of them and you have to rely on signals from them alone. It would be an interesting statistic to find out how many rear end knocks involve mpv shaped vehicles.

I just had a call from my crash repair place, my car is ready for pickup! :D

That was quick it went to them on 4th Jan, last time the same place did a repair on my car they had it for 5 weeks!

I can now have indicators that aren't annoying, the BMW 1 series indicactors are so annoying!

Sorry to hear about your car but this is actually one of my bugbears - people not leaving a big enough gap to the car in front of them.

I have seen so many silly accidents like this. The argument about not being able to see past them means you are too close really... I mean I'd actually be more pissed off if I was the car that got rear-ended my someone to close behind me (happened to me in my old car).

Just had a call from the repairer, estimete has been done, repair approved by axa insurance and courtesy car awaiting me. All parts have been ordered, bumper, bonnet, wings, grills, bonnet lock and slam panel.

I didnt need new wings as they are repairable but will be replaced. (its not what you know but who you know)
