Rear Screen Demister

Here's a quick question, I have a 2007 Ibiza TDi and I've just noticed that recently the top two or three demister lines in the rear screen don't seem to function - the rest of the screen clears fine, but the very top doesn't -anyone else have a problem like this?

It's going for it's first service in a week and I'm going to add this to the small list of other problems, to hopefully be seen to at the same time - noisy wing mirror anyone?

yep my leon has a middle bar missing!

This is a quick fix really mate, under close examination you may see a break in the orangey coloured lines from where something in your boot has caught the rear screen.

You can buy repair pens that contain a conductive fluid that repair the break, and hey presto, you should be fine.

Make sure they dont wrip you off for a new rear screen or something daft though!

I have repaired the blown tracks with the conductive paint in the past, it's about a fiver, mask it up, blob on some paint and bob's yer uncle :D

I had this problem when I first got mine. Took it back to SEAT - they replaced the window. Found out last weekend that they'd done a shite job and the rear window now pi55es in water. So it's going back AGAIN tomorrow for the job to be done AGAIN properly. :ban:

Mine's booked in for next Wednesday, they've told me they get AutoGlass or someone in to go the replacement glass, so if it goes wrong it's their fault!!

wing mirror noise is well known & can be fixed under warranty (mine was)
don't know what they did, probably stuffed the gap with old newspapers lol

I mentioned the wind noise from the drivers door and they're replacing the door seal - I don't see what that is going to do, but I live in hope!

I don't think it is the door seal.
It is a known problem with the seal around the wing mirror, where it
is attached to the car.
My stealer had a 'fix' sheet from Seat with photos & instructions.
hope that helps

I don't think it is the door seal either, but I'll let them do that and then when it doesn't work they can try again (to fix the wing mirror) !!

They're picking the car up from work & delivering it back again, so no skin off my nose !

Autoglass?! :-o

Pop off your boot trim when you get it back bud. ;) Have a look around the window to see if it's actually be done properly. I'm Ibizaless for tonight and tomorrow because of it.

Well the rear window has been changed, can't tell if it's fixed the demister problem (no reason to think it won't have done though). Pointed the open end of the hose all over the window tonight to check for leaks and it looks to be fine.

More surprisingly, the door seal seems to have cured the wind noise from the drivers door :-o I'll, of course, keep my eye (or should that be ear) on it and see if it has totally cured it.

Re-map booked for next Wednesday too !
