Just new rear pads fitted around 400+ miles ago. Today gave it abit of stick against my mate's starlet GT. Could see abit of smoke coming from the rear plus it smelt smiler like clucth burning.

Got home checked, the discs have gone black. Is this normal os should i take other actions?

At the moment the cars parked in gear only, left the handbreak off

when my rear pads died.. i noticed due the rubbing sound.

however i only ever heard them work in the last few feet of stopping. i dont think they do much stopping wise.

for yours to go black they must be locking/binding?

sticky caliper my guess.
who fitted the pads?

just thought, how many clicks on the handbrake?
if this was adjusted to low pads and you now have new pads it may need backing off.

Also were rear pads fitted and not front pads... (ie the correct thickness)

Its seems fine now, the handbreak need tighting, its on 3clicks at the moment.
my local garage did it when the suspensions was done.

Just the rear pads were done as they were only few mm left on them (very low they were)
