Hi

Apologies if this has been covered before but has anyone taken out an extended warranty on their Altea ?

Mine expires in a couple of months time and have been quoted £199 for a year or £299 for two years with the dealer.

Can anyone recommend some other warranty companies so I can compare ?

Cheers

Be very careful in this area, make sure you read the terms very carefully!

I took out one of these with my old Renault without correctly understanding the terms. It cost me £340 for 1 year and they didn't pay our for a single thing in the £7000 of repairs i had done within that 12 months.

They make out that everything is covered but the small print says different!
(eg, turbo is covered, but only if (a part completely unrelated) causes it to go)

Just my opinion anyway, be careful!

I did win out of my Citreon since I got free Citreon Assist for another three years and all money back if I didn't claim, BUT they didn't tell me when my extended warranty ran out since obviously they didn't want to honour the free Citreon assist worth say 3 x 70. After six months they paid out.... so my extended warranty didn't cost me anything and I got European recovery free as well. So all it costs was the interest loss on 600 pounds over three years.

Try WarrantyDirect, ive got the gold cover from them. They seem very very professional, and paid out on a new steering pump fitted within a few months of taking the cover out with no real arguments. I got a quote online, and then knocked them down on price from that over the phone, and got an extra month out of them. It was £200 for 13 months on my standard '53 Ibiza iirc. Still got around 4 months cover left, very good company.

Thanks everyone.

I think I will have a read of the small print of the dealer warranty because at £299 for 2 years I can't get near it with Warranty direct and some of the others.

Hmm, not sure I'd be happy with them myself. I've not heard anyone with any experiences other than ridiculous prices from JCT. I'm becoming more inclined to think my money would be better spent in the bank waiting for any problems.

Agreed, they are bad, just was wanting to compare prices.

I got the car from them but have had all the warranty work done by Richard Alexander, think I will contact them and see what they offer.
