I currently have an ibiza cupra tdi and looking at getting a mk3 cupra/cupra r. I prefere the shape and want to go back to petrol. I have a few novice questions:

1. Whats the main diff between cupra and the r (sorry if been asked loads)
2. I hear you can get 240bhp off the ko3 turbos...which ibiza come with these and what mods for 240
3. What mods do I need to get the cool dump valve noise

I will probs get a car off here which already has all the best mods such as exhaust and FMIC etc.

Not really any difference between cupra and cupra r. Cupra r has brembos, red seat belts & different seats. Cupra R was also mapped to 180bhp instead of 156 but that is irrelevant if you plan tuning it. Brembos are the best thing about the R but its group 17 insurance so expect to pay more on your premium.

Ive not heard of anyone getting 240bhp from a ko3 although i may be wrong. You can get 240 from a ko3s turbo. You will deffo need the FMIC, Downpipe, cat back exhaust, map and all the other usual bits.

I assume you mean the whoosh? An open cone filter with the split r or 007 seems to do the trick. Fit a forge TIP and get remapped and that should help. To enhance the sound some more fit a relocation kit for the DV.

IIRC the early Mk4 cupra's 1.8t's kame with KO3s, which are required for 240bhp, Otherwise its Golf GTi's, and a few other cars.
