0-60 cupra

:think:as anyone matched this 0-60 of 5.9 sec for a standard cupra with 4000miles on clock and this was carrying a passenger
timed with a digital stop watch

The speedo is not accurate enough to measure a true 0-60 and a digital instrument like GPS is too slow to react. What did you use to measure your 5.9?

it was race digital timing clock made by klik radio signal digital stopwatch the most accurate in the world
 
Generally - my Leon speedo is out by 5% at all speeds seemingly up to 70-80 mph - checked using GPS. Doesn't mean it's the same for all though...

Also did that time include reaction time as you cant start to measure from when you let go the clutch (i.e. start to move). Properly measured I'm sure you have to begin the clock before you begin to release the clutch, not at the same time. This adds another 0.3 (average) onto the time. Then you have human error on the exact time the speed is logged at 60. At 5% error you could actually doing 57 so add another 0.5 on maybe. Before you know it you have almost 7 seconds.

Alternatively you could always go to a RWYB down at Santa Pod or York Dragway for a more accurate time - just dont go when we do :blink: LOL

Not saying it wont but having a piece of paper with it on is always a more convincing statement....

Most publications including the SEAT brochure actually quote a 0-62 time rather 0-60 (as 62 mph is 100 km/hour). The 2 mph difference can have an impact on times.

I've seen magazines quote 6.2 secs for the Cupra before.

Thats pretty good!

So a remapped (310bhp) Cupra should do 0-60 in 5.23s!
And one with exhaust, filter, remap and FMIC (350bhp), 0-60 in 4.83s!

I would take these figures with a pinch of salt. I managed 14.31 @ 101.1mph on the 1/4 mile (yes it was at a non-approved FIA drageway). It is not a hard and fast calculation. I would doubt a 330bhp Leon would managed mid 13's due to wheelspin.

Not really ever tried the bike properly against the clock, but would think that with the perfect start, mid to high 10's would be possible @ approx 140mph.

Nah they will never be able to calculate it properly as there is lots of factors that could influence the time. Though seeing as they match with those calculations from tests with road cars and manufacturers claims. They seem pretty ok to use as a baseline figure. Certainly more accurate than trying to time it urself
