but in this case
the leon cupra products were never good in the first place

you see my point though, i wouldnt even bother getting a FREE replacement. no joke! its worthless imo
id be happy to run cat-back (thats the good part of the system, piper tail pipe just isnt as good looking with that inner lip)

Just to add my thoughts on this and i mean no offence.

I think this has gone beyond logic and your thoughts are being driven on your anger that the car failed the MOT. I do agree Blueflame have issues and probably are not the best exhaust company however if they offer a solution to fix the problem then go for it or at least try.

There are loads of options to consider and go for. To go and detune now i think is just a reaction rather than you rationalising it fully. You have said there are leaks in the system, surely logic dictates this might be a factor in the failure as Bill said. Surely fix this and retry?

thanks for the pm Rik,sorry to hear it dipped mate, mine only passed by the skin of a piece of fly ****,that was after ragging the thing for an hour, tester putting it through straight away at the mot(failed),then he sat in it and ragged it for a good 5 mins where after it just scraped through.
i know how you feel about not wanting any more dealings with BF,but 'sighs' maybe give them the opportunity to correct it,any idea where these leaks are mate..in the welds, exhaust body? if so its down to them to fix it,hell we've only had em 6 months or so haven't we:confused:
As far as going stage 2,would you get much more from the car than you do now,i know when i had mine chipped,i asked about going stage 2,and was told for the extra money and messing with the car,the gains are very small...don't flame me all,i know nowt bout cars was what i was told.

jonjay/cowie

its not anger towards blueflame that are making me not bother with them. It's about a year's worth of seeing how bad customer service is, how bad the products have turned out.

I dont really want to get another d/p & cat, get my hopes up it'll pass, pay for it fitted, pay for another MOT cos its over 10 days..........then fail......

I cant take that chance, you know what i mean?

**UPDATE**

Car has passed today. CO emissions on fast idle are right on the limit. Everything else is ok. Exhuast had to come off and they had to re-seal the whole lot and do some more welding.

Where the 2nd lamda sensor fits into the system there is an internal pipe which the sensor sits in, so its not actually in the stream of gasses. This was blocking air flow so they removed about half of it and refitted it all and it passed!

Now got to decide if i bin it off or persevere and face this battle every MOT time!

i suppose rob

discussed it with the guys at the garage and we agreed to see how it went, and they said they could get it through every year with enough battling. We'll see.....

wanna lower it, sort wheels & tyres and stuff first
oh and........FIT THE GAUGES HAHAHAHAHA

bout time them gauges will end up in a mueseum lol

was just rolling through the threads about this cat thing you can use some v bands which are basically a clamp for the exhaust that you need no gasket on or welding so you can screw and unscrew it on when you want

Rik, not tryin to rub salt in but mine was fine at last MOT. That said i'm still on STD map, so don't know what difference Stg.1 would make.

Glad to see it went thru 2nd time.

Might it be worth having a word with your now friendly MOT guys, and just running it on the Gas machine in a few weeks to see if it's settle down, just to get an idea of how much grief you're going to be putting up with.

Which ever way you got don't loose faith fella.
