I'm with m0rk and jenk here. You know you have a Mark II Ibiza when your left leg is in constant pain, and you can't even walk properly! Any solutions?

Apparently you can fit a hydraulic clutch from the diesel ibiza but seems like a mission. for a short term solution spray some wd-40 into the cable.

But whatever you do don't try and drive with your legs crossed (left foot on throttle, right on clutch). it might relieve your left foot but when you go to push down on the clutch as your slowing down to a set of red lights, you get a shock as you start accelerating

Not that I've done it or anything

solutions to the leg problem? errm, physiotherapy? hehe, nah im kidding.

im getting random lower back pains, think there is a connection here.

Get a new clutch, the thrust bearings wear out a LONG time before the actual plate does and thats what makes it so heavy. Just had mine done, clutch plate was fine looked almost like the new one, but the bearings clearly weren't.

you know u have a mk2 ibiza when u fill up the water bottle then press the rear wiper, no water comes out and u find out the wee pipe in the boot has come loose for the 50th time..

when the window regulators pack in, never to be replaced

heavy clutch!

Holy crap - is that what's after happening!?!?! Fantastic! :wtf:

Well, I know I drive a MK2 Ibiza cause the above has clearly occured.

Also cause when it's warm in summer, it squeaks and squeals. I was told 'Ibiza's do that in the heat'.

And in the winter, it squeaks and squeals, cause 'Ibiza's do that in the wet.'

Hmmm.

Doesn't mean I love it any less though :D

You know you have a Mk2 Ibiza when....

Your in the outside lane of the Motorway and start to smell burning, glance down and see a stream of smoke persistently coming from the steering column despite your best (and potentially catastrophic) efforts to blow it out at 70 ish mph!!!

Just when you've resigned yourself to an impending fireball it stops!!!

Later after a steering wheel off 4hr strip down to investigate it turns out to be nothing more than a loose spade connection!!

You know you have a mk2 gti when......... your driving (sliding) around the country lanes and a piece of metal hits your leg and you dont know where it came from[:@]. (hope my chairs not gonna fall out)

When the exhaust leaks after hitting it on a speed bump and you cant get a small enough clamp to fit it cos its on the cat join!!!!!

When you look in your mirror to see a GTi badge and laugh cos its a golf, 10 secs later you see a blur flashing at you cos your too damn quick.:funk:

The white multi spokes are oxidising rapidly.

The power stearing belt squeels,

You know you have a mk2 valver when you promiss not to modify it, (thats why you brought the cupra) and you just cant help going in the local motor stores and buying from ebay.

When youve had a crap day but by the time youve got home the tyres are smoking and you feel soooooo relieved,

I know when i've done that, because instead of the tyres smoking the rear discs are so hot that they dont hold the handbrake on my car and it ends up off my drive in the middle of the road!!

*mental note- leave the bloody thing in gear or calm down!*

Yup, but that will have nothing to do with you enjoying the ride, its just that you will have to go using a route with no speedbumps, nice little de-tour

Did that when i borrowed my mates Pug 306 on boxing day, 75 in the outside lane of the M4 :(

Fkin spare was flat as well

i had no spare so had to leave it at some garage overnight. nice.

also u know u have a seat when. both of your windows dont work because they keep falling off those little plastic blocks things on the runners.

and your handbrake is lose and hnothing will tighten it up.

and when you have a rattly heat shield decide to take it off then the other one decides to rattle.

oh and when is starts making noises when u turn full lock.

jesus i really need to sot my car out lol
