The one with the green top with a slot in it? if so i think its the power steering, i think it is the k03 as the cupra has the k03s.....or is it the other way round

The '2000 leon 20vt sport' is the same car as the Cupra :D

And that is a Ko3S, the Cupra R has a Ko4

I think that's right anyway, if not someone will be along shortly to correct me ! ;)

I have this ticking as well in my LCR! Could this really be the power steering? I have had it since i bought the car several months ago and not looked into it!

I was under the impression that the early 20vT Sports / Cupra's run K03 and the new (possible from facelift onwards) run a K03S.

Defo won't be a K04 as this is LCR specific...

correct.

To be sure what turbo it is check the engine code. (3 letters top front offside corner of the engine).
you may need to remove the plastic cover, but i dont think you do.

If its APP ( i suspect it is) then its a K03 turbo.
if not its a K03s

The answer to this question is already in the thread - the ticking is the charcoal canister. This is perfectly normal, so no more investigation is required.
