Sold the 1.6 16v corsa in search of something cheaper, more powerful, more reliable and something.....greener
Parted with £1,000 for this

After a bloody good clean it got a new air filter

And slightly modified airbox

Then re-directed the coolant pipes, diverting the flow through the throttle body (aids cooler running)

Then machined out & polished the throttle body

Rear brakes needed changing so i figgured some 15mm spacers were in order to make the front and rear track equal. This vastly reduces overstear. Greenstuff EBC were also added up front.

Now it was time for some restoration. The nearside rear arch had some nasty rust that was getting worse and worse. I bought in some Zinc182 primer, S6E kiwi yellow paint, 800/1000/1200/1600 wet & dry and some clear laquer. After 6 hours the rust was gone and it was colour time.

That heater saved alot of time

Now my cambelt needs changing soon so i have bought in this to fit while im at it. Its a camshaft from a golf mk2 8v GTI PB engine. Same profile as mine but higher lift. Should see a suttle gain without loosing that all important torque.

The EBC greenstuff pads have bedded in now so i tested them out last night on the rally stages. Very impressed, they are a vast improvement over stock :)

Over did one tight right, think i didn't straighten up fast enough after a dab of handbrake. Almost stacked it into the bank lol. Looks like many a stage driver had made the same mistake too :D

Looks very good mate. Is it suffering from faded paint like so many other Kiwis?

Did you get the camshaft in yet? Does it make a noticeable difference?

Looking at the pictures I think you mean the Nant-y-Moch road, Tal y Bont to Ponterwyd, didnt know it was a stage? Fantastic road non the less, tho if you like that then youll love Pendam (Penrhyncoch to Ponterwyd).
