did'nt you say there was a leak?

thats not going to help things..
mine near on passes emissions with lower CO/HC than yours with decat, and easily passes with 100cel cat. I doubt it would pass anything with a leak however.

there are two small leaks i believe yes
sealing these on thursday bill-its no gaurantee it will work mind!

Im not even tempted by 200cel, could be wasting my money for the same problems all over.

We will see i guess...........

In some ways id be a bit happier to have a normal cat again.....at least i wouldnt get CEL lights from this b*stard blueflame anymore HAHA and the differences between stage 1 and 2 are only about 8bhp anyway!lol

rob don said his wouldn't pass until he put tesco 99 octane in it mate, maybe worth a try. check out robs posts and see what he said about it or pm him. he knows a fair bit more than me and could explain it better.

yeah i saw that ahead of time jamie
i always run car on V-Power but for last month ive been on Tesco 99 after what rob said

i've tried everything i can to get this through

just a shame the plans will be out of the window becuase of this.
think its fair enough to say i've lost my will to carry on to a decent standard with this car
just going to get it running nicely and stage 1 it instead, concentrate on the show side then

i dont think anyone thats dealt with blueflame will disagree when i suggest this..

most likely it's a duff cat! they wouldnt care less if it was or not.

Surely it came with a warranty?
And if it failed MOT due to the exhaust and it was leaking, then i'm sure you could give them a chance to put it right before slating them on a forum?
If other have passed with the same exhaust then yours might be one of the unlucky ones that can be rectified?
Have you contacted them and given them the chance to put it right yet?

I have a Blue Flame complete turbo back system.

When I took the car for its MOT it failed on emissions, I contacted Nigel at Blue Flame and arranged for a replacement Cat to be fitted, which I had to pay for until the old cat was inspected at the manufactures in France.
On removing the old Cat I noticed it was a 200 cell not the 100 cell I requested, they changed this for a 100 cell.
When the car was re-tested, it passed with flying colours 0.09% CO2.
Three weeks later a phone call from Nigel at Blue Flame confirmed that there was a non-specific fault on the Cat, a full refund was paid back to me the same day.
I can’t complain about the service I received on this occasion and I am more than satisfied with the system, IMO an excellent system at an affordable price.

Interesting, mine is due for its 1st MOT next month, i think we got our Blueflames around the same time,

Also, i was one of the people who had a split downpipe, and in Blueflames defence they rectified it as soon as possible, by repairing it, granted i would of prefered for it to be replaced but the service was ok.

Thats the sort of service you should get from a company like this. Goes to show they are willing to help, but you have to give them the opportunity.

AAAAAA

Yep, car failed MOT this morning.
Tris/Moffmeister/Cowie and everyone that has BF turbo back exhuasts or anyone thinking about getting a turbo back-think wisely!.

Car Failed on-;
Emissions CO at 1st fast idle excessive
Emissions CO after 2nd fast idle excessive
Split CV gaitor

Fast Idle Test 1
CO Limit 0.3%vol Reading-0.5%vol
Lamda Limit 0.97-1.03 Reading 1.04

Fast Idle Test 2
Co Limit 0.3%vol Reading-0.38%vol
Lamda Limit 0.97-1.03 Reading 1.03

Natural Idle
CO Limit 0.5%vol Reading-0.5%vol

So, it passed lamda on 2nd running and the CO came down. I ragged the crap out of the car for about 45 minutes before the test, they tried in earnest for 40 minutes to get it to pass. We talked for a while after and there are 2 small leaks in the system which he would of patched but the cat was too HOT! Patching these two leaks may well see it pass, but we arent sure.

SO, car is going back on Thursday for CV gaitor (no biggy im not fussed about that) and to patch the two leaks and see if it passes-high chance of this given readings. Problem is though even if it passes im going to face this battle every year with the race/sports cat on.

But if it fails again im going to have to buy a new standard downpipe & cat and run cat-back exhuast. Im not even tempted to get back at blueflame for a new dp & cat cos they are a shower of sh*t

Moral of the story, NEVER buy a blueflame and if you are considering getting a turbo back system BE CAREFUL.

End of the day i could have a £200+ bill and end up with a cat-back exhuast

[:@]:cry::cartman:

On a better note, HID's passed no problem and the rest of the car is "perfect" in the opinion of the tester

Mine failed on emissions as well mate but I only drove the car staright to the garage which was a 15 min trip.

So I took the car out for a blast first thing in the morning then straight to the garage for a re-emission test and it passed by a huge amount.

Yes Phil, we were a couple of the early purchasers of the 3” down pipe systems, I remember you had an issue with welds on the down pipe but I think it was sorted without to much hassle.

Off topic!!

Are you going to the RR day at Awesome?

Our Claire has just got a 1.8 Leon Cupra look out for her post, forum name is Cupa Car Jr, nice one EH!
