Hi, my 06 2.0tdi sport will not now open with my remote. I can open it using the key and it will lock using the remote but there is no LED flashing on the remote. I suspect it's just the battery but don't know how to gwt into it and what type it is. I've done a search but can't seem to find any info. Any help appreciated as it will be a couple of weeks before I can take it to the dealers.
thank

Give the key a fairly good tug and the fob should seperate into two sections.
The section with the buttons on will then split in half with a bit of gentle coaxing, you will then see the battery. The replacement is a CR2032 battery....

isnt there a screw under the little seat badge? thought i'd read that on here somewhere.

also, can anyone else confirm the battery size please? 2032?

Thanks for the replies. Managed to get the key seperated. The top half with key atached pulls away (with some force) to leave the electronic section behind. The top part of this can the be prised off to reveal the battery.
The battery is a flat CR2032 the type used in Heart rate monitors etc. Should be able to get them from laces that change watch bateries or sometimes on a flat card containg a selection of batteries from poundland (or Seat)

If you change the battery in the key fob do you need to re calibrate the fob with your car? Is there a specific amount of time you need to change the battery in?

Think my battery is dying as well. Anyone know the answer to if the key needs to be reset or will it be fine as soon as it has been changed?

Changed mine at the weekend and it worked fine straight away.

Took me a few minutes and a screwdriver shaped gash in my thumb to work out how to split the front and back sections but I got it sorted in the end.
