Cheapest place for an FR?

If I did decide on the FR route.. where is the cheapest place to get one from?

Motorpoint are doing new ones (in stock) for £15,499 in Black, with no options.

Any where cheaper? What are the dealers pushing these out in the real world? What options should you 100% have?

Just weighing up the options if the FR really is the way to go instead of a stylance with a sport pack.

it doesnt bother me if they are imports to be fair as long as they come with the warrenty. Same goes for if its been registered before, again doesnt make any differance to me. I would have to check the spec against UK spec though but I bet they are pretty much the same.


Irfan I have 15k to spend, I could push it a little more but would prefer not too. I am not sure if this is realistic for the FR or not as I have no real idea how much dealers are letting them go fo this time of year. It would be a cash sale, and no finance. I also have a mk4 golf I want to part-ex but I could sell that privately if it meant a better deal.

Does it have to be brand new?

I paid a shade under £15k for a 6 month old FR DSG w/ only 35miles on the clock, 6 months tax and a full tank. Have a look on the used car section of the Seat website. You may have to travel, but there's other similar deals to be had.

I have been looking the last couple of weeks and the miage always seems a touch high for the age.

It doesnt have to be new but it does have to be black or Zenith grey. Oh and it has to be diesel

I was gonna get a black FR from Motorpoint, but was a Dutch Import with as you said no extras, they said they could put their own extras on (Bluetooth/ipod etc) but would not be as good as the Factory ones IMHO...

As for options,

Bluetooth is a must...
most others are down to individual preference....
Personally i didnt like the look of the 18" alloys and to be honest the ride is hard enough on 17" so glad i didnt go the extra £350....

I rang up about a Golf GTi from Motorpoint. That too was a Dutch import.

They couldn't even guarantee it had an alarm until I checked when I collected it, oh and as the cars they had at the time were in Newport, there was a delivery charge to transport it over to Burnley.

Decided it wasn't worth it in the end as the saving wasn't great and dealers could be funny about warrenty work. Part ex price for my Celica was £1000 lower than I got from a U.K SEAT dealer in the end too.

Convenience Pack is well worth the money on a Leon.

I agree you MUST get bluetooth. Not just for the phone but all the other features that come with it.

If I was ordering again, I'd go for Bluetooth, not for the Bluetooth itself really but for the large MFD and all the extra features that brings.
