I believe none of the Special Edition Ibizas, be the DAB or the Formula Sport, seem to have Back speakers, Is the cabling there as standard? or to get speakers fitted would you need all the wiring etc too?

I know the Polo doesn't have back speakers either, but i've never actually checked if there is wiring for it or not.

Cheers.

Well the "tweaters" in the back actually unclip really easily, and definately no wiring behind them, which is a bit of a bitch,

I've been looking around a little, and apparently the DAB Radio doens't even work with rear speakers.... Can anyone confirm this?

Sorry for all the questions, First car, and everything is still new to me : (

Doh,

Think i've found out why, The DAB Radio by Blupunkt only has 4 outputs, so there is no easy way to include the 2 rear speakers (well technically 4 i guess?) Which would be why the quote in another thread from the Stealers is around £500.....

Might be a project for when the car is out of warantee then me thinks..

It doesnt cost alot to get speakers put in the back. Personally, i would buy a set of good components for the front and move the 1s you have in the front to the back. Sounds difference would be very noticable.

Where abouts in Scotland are you based?

hey..ive got a dab, and it didnt have any rear speakers or any wiring for the rear speakers, so i got some rear speakers fitted, and yes they do work when connected to the headunit...i had to purchase an adaptor for the back of the headunit, but that was just for the subwoofer me thinks. hope this helps, med

Im in Edinburgh, Although got the car from Uddingston, and been well happy with the service etc through there.

Going to get the boot and rear lined first to get rid of a bit of the road noise, then will work on the rear speakers me thinks.

Med : Sweet, cheers for that mate

Cool, I got my car from where you got yours aswell, and the service is excelent.

One of the technicians is a member on here so need to say that. Eh Keith?

If you need the adapter for the sub, i have 1 now ive got my new headunit in place. Other than that, just need to run new speaker wire and join them up and your onto a winner. Easy to do. ;) If you need help whenever your doing it, im not that far away from you. Give me a PM and we can sort something out.

Sweet, Cheers mate, will probably be early into the new year before i sort it all out.

Yeah i was totally impressed with the service in there though, everyone was so friendly, unlike most garages you find nowadays.

Just got a call back from the dealers, and they were pretty damn helpful.

I can a) get them fitted for around £200,
b) do them myself, and not invalid my warantee (unless i break a panel etc when putting them in / warantee on stereo would be instant voided though pretty much)
c) don't do it

Problem with adding speakers, as he didn't seem to reckon i would get fading in the back so it may sound a little odd...

What's your thoughts?

Think the DAB Stereo says it supports 4 x 50w.

Cheers

Does the headunit have a FAD option beside the volume knob?

If so, you can fade to the rears to suit your own personal choice.

Nope, no FAD button as such, it falls under "AUD-DEG, which sets the bass, treble, balance and fader.

Il have a look when im in the car on the way to work

Was thinking if i add back speakers, and disconnect the tweaters it should be fine i think... If i get decent enough speakers i shouldnt need the tweaters anyway.

cheers for your help

Well my DAB Sport (new in 2007) def. has rear speakers, I don't think they were added after delivery, as I got the car straight from the dealers (it was their demo model). I can fade to the rear and set the balance to one side and the sound comes out of one rear speaker only. I must say I am happy with the DAB blaupunkt I have (apart from the display) especially since I added an iPod dock (in the glovebox).

i have a DAB 2007 model and both the rear speakers work fine. I think there was a problem with this as Seat stated that it came with 6 speakers i think, but for most people they didn't work or had not been put in. I would of thought that seens as though it is in the speak of the car Seat should put them in free of charge, otherwise your paying for something you haven't got.

I believe the 56 DAB didn't come with rear speakers, but the 07 did, but i believe the seats are slightly dif, with the 07 seats being the same as the Formula Sport seats, Not 100% sure though.

If you can fade left and right with the same head unit, it sounds like there would be no problem for me then.....

But is it fading front rear to front / front to rear, or do the rear speakers just mimic the front ones?

Did the 07 DAB not come with an ipod cable built in?

Do the 54 plate FR's have rears? cant hear them if so but the fronts with a Kenwood head unit carry well anyways

Can anybody help with the adapter needed for the back of the blaupunkt dab head unit to add rear speakers and a subwoofer?
Just bought a dab second hand and nobody has fitted the rear speakers in it.
