My new LED h3 bulbs arrived yesterday. i never use the fogs so i thought id make my fogs into extra side lights. i've seen the bulbs on here but cant find them on search.

Plugged them in like a normal h3 and nothing, tried them on a 12v battery they are fine, tried the normal h3 bulb again in the car its fine...hummmm[:@]

any ideas why i cant get these to light up on the car but can on a direct 12v feed

this will sound stupid... but when you connected the bulb to the car did you turn on the fog lights with the LED bulb NOT fitted inside the fog light unit?!

if so this is the reason why!!!! I think it needs an earth or sumic.

fit the LED bulb into the fog light and close it up and THEN turn your fogs on!

if you have already done this then I have no idea whats happening!

even when connect to the fog light unit, unless it was clipped into place then it would not work! almost as if the metal body of the LED bulb WAS the ground! (well thats what I assumed!)

so make sure your LED bulb is actually FITTED into place, rather than being connected up to quickly see if it works if you see what I mean?!

my dipped beam is not on!

to get rid of yellow side lights you need white LED bulbs or philips blue vision side lights bulbs or similar!

is there any LED bulbs that are bright enough to be fog lights? or a good colour match fog light bulb for 6000k HIDs? as they look very yellow compared to my HIDS

nope, LEDs are not bright enough!

you could always buy some cheap blue h3 bulbs on ebay and they will look less yellow to the oem ones.

or spend a bit extra and HID them like I did :)

yea there the ones I had (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2pcs-H3-Fog-L...ryZ72233QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

LCR fogs are easy to removed...

1. pull grill out
2. undo the two torx screws
3. unplug the fog switch

and bobs your uncle it comes out!

be warned though.. these LED fog bulbs are NOT bright at all!

however they are a very good colour match to 6000k HID dipped beam lights, and they look like side lights when turned on, like a bmw mini has its side lights in the front bumper!
